Tryouts

4 Aug 2020 by Carlos Rodas

Hello Everyone,
Many of you have reached out to me over the last few days regarding information on 2020-2021. We are working diligently to prepare and staff next year’s teams. We understand 2020 did not turn out as any of us planned but do know that we did our best to come up with a Plan B, Plan C, Plan D, etc, etc,,,,Each step of the way. We hope we gave the girls some sense of normalcy in an unprecedented year!
Below is a link to pre-registration for tryouts and ALL players are required to tryout. Please fill out the form so that we can better plan for the upcoming season. As with every year, August is the worst time for gossip, rumors and nonsense of such in the travel softball world. Rather than entertain any of that we have always chosen to control what we can control. We understand that some athletes may not be returning and we wish them nothing but the best on and off the field and sincerely thank you and them for your time at Elite.

Here are a couple answers to the most common questions from returning players

QUESTION>Do I have to tryout- Yes
QUESTION>Am I guaranteed placement- NO
QUESTION>I made a futures team lat year will I automatically make Select if I am returning to the same age group? NO
QUESTION>Who are Coaches? We are still determining staff, It is one reason we need preregistration filled out. Carlos Rodas will manage Showcase teams everything else is TBD.
QUESTION>Can I tryout out to play up? Yes. Truthfully very rarely are players pulled up for more than a swing role as the new recruiting guidelines make it senseless to have 8th and 9th graders playing in expensive Showcase and at the youth levels we side with building confidence, Having said that we will consider anyone.

In closing although 2019-2020 brought us many challenges it also was another year of growth for our young program.Five of our Seniors committed to play at the collegiate level, We were able to get entry into prestigious tournaments like D9 Orlando, Team NJ, Pennsbury and played on main fields in both NE Finest and Xtreme Dimensions. Our upcoming weekend at Pennsbury put us in one of the TOP groups of all teams in New England. These opportunities were once ones not available to our athletes and we are extremely humbled by our placement in the Club softball world in such a short period of time.We have been viewed by over 200 colleges on the field or using Athletes go Live and have begun a network of college coaches that will help us immensely in placing girls moving forward.

This fall we will also begin moving into our new building right down the road from Belmont Park!!!! Exciting times ahead and hope to see you all at tryouts! Please let me know if anyone has any questions
